Join us for conversation with author and couples therapist Linda Carroll on CHI FOR YOURSELF. Linda Carroll is the author of LOVE CYCLES: The Five Essential Stages of Lasting Love. Listen now at www.chiforyourself.com.
We all love to talk about love, and we likely always will because so much of it is mysterious. From the partners we choose, to why we leave or stay, to how a relationship’s dynamics are always changing, nothing hurts or heals so much.
The notions that passion always peters out, that there’s a “seven-year itch,” and that the honeymoon is over as soon reality sets in have some truth to them. But, our scheduled guest on this week’s CHI FOR YOURSELF says long-term, wholehearted love really IS possible.
Author and couples therapist Linda Carroll explains that love is cyclical and comprised of five distinct stages. She says that the greatest benefit of our intimate relationships is the opportunity they provide to grow and develop as a human being. And she says, everyone can win at love, even when a relationship doesn’t last.

The Matthew Fox interview on CHI FOR YOURSELF that was planned for August 21st has been re-scheduled. You’ll be able to hear the interview this Thursday, August 28th at 4pm Eastern, 1pm Pacific time at chiforyourself.com. A problem in Matthew’s phone connection forced the change, so we’re looking forward to getting him back with us. Thank’s so much for your understanding!
Though he lived in the thirteenth century, Meister Eckhart’s deeply ecumenical teachings were in many ways modern. He taught about what we call ecology, championed artistic creativity, and advocated for social, economic, and gender justice. All these elements have inspired spiritual maverick Matthew Fox and influenced his Creation Spirituality. You can hear Matthew Fox on Chi For Yourself today at 4pm Eastern, 1pm Pacific at chiforyourself.com.
“Constructive wallowing” seems like an oxymoron. Constructive is a good thing, but wallowing is bad. Right?
But wait a minute; is it really so terrible to give ourselves a time-out to feel our feelings? Or is it possible that wallowing is an act of loving kindness, right when we need it most?
We’ll look at these questions and more on Chi For Yourself when we’re visited by Tina Gilbertson, author of Constructive Wallowing:How to Beat Bad Feelings by Letting Yourself Have Them.
Tina will be the guest on Thursday, September 11th at 4pm Eastern, 1pm Pacific time. You’ll be able to hear the interview at chiforyourself.com

Join us today on Chi For Yourself for a conversation with Simone Wright, author of First Intelligence: Using the Science & Spirit of Intuition.Simone says that that while we all have the ability to use our intuition, in order to be actively intuitive — which means to be able to use it at will instead of by happenstance — we must develop the skill. Her book is intended to give readers all they need to know to do just that.
